What it’s like to work in the film industry?
This is the job that many film professionals use to break into the business! Production Assistants do everything. They help load vans, get coffee orders right, park cars, lock down sets and generally help the crew in any way they can. One of the more basic lessons to learn is how to properly wrap and coil cables as there are always plenty of video, audio and electrical cables on every set and it’s one job a PA will always be asked to do.

There are many jobs on an average film set. Unless you’ve been a part of the industry it’s difficult to imagine all the different types of professions it takes to make up a film set. There is a place for just about everybody not just the actors, producers or directors but also for the builders, electricians, food service, security and of course PAs. A film set is like an instant town that’s built in a week and then vanishes a month later.

“This course changed my life in a way that wouldn't have been changed, the way I was living previously. This would not be possible without this course, because I wouldn't have been able to get on the set and been able to work and know what I was doing, know how to be successful.” Micah Jamal Allen, Film Production Assistant
